Tractors & Backhoes

Did you know that the first engine-powered tractors were introduced in 1868? A tractor is a motorized behicle designed to specifically deliver a high tractive effort at slow speeds. Tractors have the purpose of hauling trailers and machinery and are most often used in agriculture and construction. They are a great source of power on farms.

Andrew has several different models of tractors from different companies, such as Ford and New Holland. One of his newest tractors is a New Holland TG285.

Backhoes are tractor-like vehicles with an arm and bucket mounted on the back, and a front loader on the front. Backhoes help move baled hay from a field to a storage unit or truck. Andrew has had his current backhoe loader for a number of years. It is a Ford 550 and a model from the mid-1970s. This backhoe shows good quality machinery can last for many years if properly cared for.
