Dahlsrud Farms has been a business for over 100 years. It all began in the mid-1800s with a man from Norway. Andrew Christensen Dahlsrud was born on February 20, 1858 in Sande, Hjrlbr, Norway. He was a farmer and rope maker, and also the grandfather of the farm's present-day operator, Andrew Dahlsrud.
Andrew Christensen Dahlsrud, at age 25, moved from Norway to the United States of America in the early 1900s after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Andrew married Anna Gustoffa Jensen, his childhood sweetheart who was also from Norway, on May 2, 1884 in Utah.
Andrew, along with his family, settled in the rural areas of both Ephraim and Salina, Utah. Andrew and Anna had eight children, five girls and three boys. The children had the opportunity to help with the family farm. Eventually, their youngest child, Raymond Dahlsrud, began farming on his father's property for his own career. Raymond married Chlorene Lamb from Orem, Utah on June 25, 1952. They raised their family in Salina. They had five children: Rebecca, Andrew, Timothy, Henry, and Anna. The oldest son, Andrew, keeps his family’s business alive today as he owns and operates the family's property; he also operates many acres for other local farmers and ranchers.
