A girl named Ashley was born in a year where that was the most popular girl name. Through most of her young life Ashley was always confused about why there were so many of her everywhere she went. When she got to school there were so many Ashley's she had to be called Ashley C. She really hated being called Ashley C. To this day, Ashley C., is the only name Ashley won't answer to.
When Ashley got high school started to like her name. Though she had several classes where she was one of three or more Ashley's in a class, she began to come to terms with her name. No one called her Ashley C. they all just called her Ashley. The hardest part of being an Ashley in high school was walking down the halls. Every time someone would call out "Ashley" Ashley would turn around. It rarely was her that someone was calling. After awhile Ashley didn't answer to her name in the hall at all.
Now, 21 years later, Ashley really likes her name. She thinks it fits her personality. She has discovered that it isn't the name that makes a person. It is their actions, and for Ashley, her art.
